Damani Lodges Resort - Thrilling Adventures In The Hajar Mountains

Location:

Hatta United Arab Emirates Middle East
MountainNature

Mountains and hiking? Surely we are not talking about the same country famous for its skyscraper-ridden skyline, giant shopping malls, and gorgeous beaches. Hatta lies close to the Omani borders, high up in the Al Hajar Mountains. If you want to escape from the bustling urban life of Dubai into the remote and natural region of jagged and shattered landscape, you are in the right place.

Damani Lodges Resort has purpose-built huts with cozy interiors overlooking the Hatta mountains. The sturdy cabins scattered around the hilltop have plenty of space in between them to create an intimate environment. Each one has an integrated private terrace with cozy hanging night lights where you can enjoy the majestic sunsets with a glass of (alcohol-free) wine. You can choose between the Standard and the Standard Plus lodges. The latter is slightly bigger and can accommodate a family of three, but both are furnished with plush and comfy beds and the amenities of a hotel room. For example, you will have access to high-speed Internet as well as to a coffee-making machine.

The adventures start from the moment you step outside your cabin. What awaits you are the natural thrills of the Emirates. Mind-blowing mountain biking on the rocky surfaces of the Hatta Wadi Hub, picturesque hikes along winding wadis, kayaking on the artificial lake created by the Hatta Dam, horseback riding on stunning Arabian horses, and paragliding to see the beauty of the rocky mountains of Hatta from high above. If that's not enough, the region's adrenaline booster is right around the corner. The Hatta Wadi Hub is packed with thrilling activities, like the speed water slides that blast you up in the air before landing in a plunge pool.

Sacred Sands - Straw Walls, Cast-Iron Tubs, and the Darkest Sky in California

The walls at Sacred Sands are packed with straw. Not metaphorically - straw bale construction means compacted bales stacked, framed, and finished in terracotta clay, resulting in walls so thick they function as their own acoustic system, insulation layer, and fire barrier all at once.
