Meliá Desert Palm Dubai Resort - Traditional Arabian Aesthetics And Polo Games

Location:

Dubai United Arab Emirates Middle East
Luxury

A boutique hotel in the skyscraper coral of Dubai is a rare find indeed. The Palm Resort was originally built so its extravagant owner could play Polo and to this day it boasts two Polo fields, horses, and stables. And yes, you can have riding lessons.

Your room comes with designer furniture, ‘Egg’ baths, and yoga mats. The decoration draws on a traditional Arabian aesthetic with large windows that open out onto a private balcony. On a hot day, you will certainly appreciate the refreshing plunge pools. There is a fine infinity pool near the organic gardens and two award-winning restaurants and wine bars. The hotel plays host to top DJs from all over the world where a sophisticated set enjoy a BBQ before partying in the open air. Incredibly, there is an international-standard golf course ready and waiting while cultural and shopping trips are easily arranged.

You can explore the Arabian Desert (possibly humming the opening theme from Aladdin while you do so but this is by no means a prerequisite). You will ride on camelback or take a 4x4 for a more testosterone-orientated experience. And if that doesn’t get the heart racing the special sky-diving experiences certainly will.
