Farol Design Hotel - Clifftop Swimming Pool And Atlantic View

Location:

Cascais Portugal West Europe
BeachDesignLuxury

The tourist industry in Cascais has had a great time recently. This gorgeous medieval village boasts a fine location that has long been used as a getaway for the rich and famous. The top real estate here is the old aristocratic mansions that lie on rocky outcrops, high above the waves of the Atlantic commanding views of the sun-speckled waters. If you love specialist design, expansive views, and clifftop swimming pools, this is the place for you.

The original building dates back to 1890 and used to be the home of a Count. It stayed in his family until it was bought by developers recently. The second building was finished in 2002 and is a modern structure. The hotel’s renowned designers have combined old terracotta roofs and whitewashed walls with sexy interior features fashioned from luxury materials. In the bar, you feel like you are floating on water. No, it’s not the champagne; it’s the location, right by the ocean. And in the summer, legendary dances take place.

Maison Mystique - A Thai Hotel So Wes Anderson It Hurts

Maison Mystique does not announce itself. It accumulates - vine-draped archways, a hidden whisky lounge behind a door that gives nothing away, glass domes of preserved butterflies frozen mid-flutter - until the place stops feeling like a hotel and starts feeling like a house that has been quietly waiting for …

Palacio del Inka, Cusco - Inside a 500-Year-Old Mansion: Stone, Gold, and a Baby Alpaca Named Inti

Most hotels describe themselves as historic. Palacio del Inka was a palace, then a Spanish colonial mansion, then a museum, and is now asking if you'd like a pisco sour. The stones - massive, fitted without mortar with an Incan precision that has outlasted earthquakes - belonged to Qorikancha, the …
