Heritance Tea Factory - Sri Lankan Tea Plantation Hotel

Location:

Nuwara Eliya Sri Lanka South Asia
IndustrialNatureRemote

There are two things you need for a kicking tea factory in Sri-Lanka: one, elevation, over 2,000 feet is good, and two, lots of floors so the sorting, weighing and drying process can be done quickly so the tea retains its distinctive flavor. And then, when the time comes to sell the factory, you can have it made into a hotel where guests can view the stunning landscape from the mountain location and enjoy some of the great estates left by the Raj.

The hotel as it stands today looks exactly the same as it did when it was first built in the 19th Century. Inside there is a spa with all manner of massages, luxury scrubs, and wraps – there is also a library, gym, and putting green. You can choose your room from many available with rain showers and silk sheets.

You can hire bikes, take excursions, stroll around old British villages and parks, visit the legendary Sita Eliya Temple, smell the botanical gardens, see the special frost-flowers… The tea is very special too and it comes from a boutique factory. You can take some home with you, go on, it’ll be a nice memento of your trip.
