Hotel Endemico is a rustic retreat in Mexico’s wine country situated on a slope overlooking the Valle de Guadalupe. “Endemico” is a Spanish word meaning “part of the environment” and so each eco-pod is designed to show-off the rural landscape.
The local area is village-quaint, left alone by commercialism, with over 60 traditional vineyards nearby. The concept of Endemico was to create a campsite-feel while retaining modern luxury. These stilt-standing modernist cabins have fine beds, bathrooms, and terraces. In winter, you can warm yourself by your encased firepit before heading to the lobby to take a dip in the infinity pool or Jacuzzi.
Eat at their Mexican restaurant which is directed by the Tijuana Culinary Arts School. In recognition of the hotel’s “leave no trace” philosophy, no cars are allowed on the property; instead, you can be shuttled around by the hotel’s own all-terrain vehicles. Horseback is a fine way to see the flowering shrubs and desert wildlife of this region and is a popular activity for guests here.
