J Hotel Shanghai, which opened in mid-2021, became China's top spot to spend the night. The hotel is hosted atop of Shanghai Tower – China's tallest and the world's third tallest skyscraper at 632 meters (2073 feet) – and it claims the title of the highest hotel in the world. The rooms and suites are spread across floors 86 to 98. Even more impressively, Heavenly Jin is located on the 120th floor (556 meters / 1824 feet above ground), making it one of the world's highest restaurants.

The tower is located in the heart of Lujiazui, Shanghai's glitzy financial district, offering an unseen bird's-eye view of this breathtakingly futuristic city. J Hotel Shanghai Tower boasts 165 rooms, including 34 suites in four different styles and sizes. The guestrooms are decorated in New Chinese or Contemporary styles. Artistic interior works include the use of lacquer, glaze, enamelwork, metal, crystal, and mosaics translating into creative room designs of the highest class. The most expensive is the 380 square meter Shanghai Suite that includes a parlor, study, kitchen, physiotherapy area, and even a walk-in dressing room. It's one of the most exclusive suites you can book in the world, with a price tag starting at around $34,400 a night.

Seven restaurants and bars offer gastronomical experiences, including ones with open-plan kitchens. The Reiki Spa and fitness center is on the 84th and 85th floors, where you will find a dedicated yoga room and an impressive, 160-meter skyline swimming pool. Next to the pool, you'll find a 130-square-meter viewing deck with a breathtaking panorama of Shanghai.
