Kozmo Hotel - Budapest's Architectural Gem with the Country's Second Biggest Staircase

Location:

Budapest Hungary East Europe
HeritageLuxury

The former telephone exchange building on Budapest's Horváth Mihály Square awaits guests in its former glory, with five-star opulence and Hungary's second-largest staircase.

The inner districts of Budapest hide many architectural treasures waiting to be discovered. One of these is undoubtedly this beautiful red-brick, stucco-decorated historic building, which hides further secrets within its latticed ornamental gate.

The former Józsefváros Telephone Center, built between 1910 and 1917, was the dream of Vilmos Ray Rezső, the designer of the Törley Castle, Mausoleum, and the Margaret Island Water Tower. The renowned architect of the era created a building balancing the border of historicism and art nouveau.
