Native Village Inn Philippines - Bungalows With Panorama On Rice Terraces

Location:

Uhaj Village Philippines Southeast Asia
NatureRemote

This unique mountain lodge overlooking Banaue’s World Heritage Rice Terraces is a super cool spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The Native Village website is quick to point out that this is NOT a five-star resort. “We are a simple resort with fantastic views, with spotlessly clean shared showers and toilets.” So if you’re not into sharing, this might not be the place for you. But...the views might change your mind.

Perfect for backpackers who want to experience what it feels like to spend a night inside an Ifugao hut, the Village Inn is small and authentic. The inn also offers tours around the Hapao Rice Terraces. Adventure seekers can also check out the ice-cold Hapao river and Bogyah Hot Spring.

Adventures got you hungry? A simple restaurant offers guests dishes like pork tenderloin stew and chicken with vegetables in a coconut curry sauce. While this spot may not be Michelin-rated, it’s perfect for grabbing a bite and filling your stomach before the next adventure.

Sacred Sands - Straw Walls, Cast-Iron Tubs, and the Darkest Sky in California

The walls at Sacred Sands are packed with straw. Not metaphorically - straw bale construction means compacted bales stacked, framed, and finished in terracotta clay, resulting in walls so thick they function as their own acoustic system, insulation layer, and fire barrier all at once. It is an uncommon way …

The 300-hectare property sits on …

Wild Hill, Kenya - The Safari Lodge That Grew Out Of A Bean Farm

There's a secret door built into a hillside in Kenya. Step through it, walk a short tunnel, and you emerge to one of the most disorienting views in East Africa: a vast, golden sweep of Maasai Mara plains stretching 2,000 feet (610 meters) below you, lit by shafts of afternoon …

Feynan Ecolodge - Off the Grid and Off the Map

There are no light switches at Feynan Ecolodge. No minibar, no television, no electricity sockets in the rooms. Minaret Station - New Zealand's Helicopter-Only Alpine Lodge Where Everything Else Drops Away
