Pumphouse Point - Charming Boutique Hotel At Australia’s Deepest Lake

Location:

Lake St Clair Australia Oceania
IndustrialNatureRemote

The Pumphouse Point is a charming boutique hotel set amid the majestic alpine backdrop of Australia’s deepest lake. The spectacular features of the landscape around Lake St. Claire were created as a massive glacier moved across the landscape, all of which are visible from the unique perspective of this heritage site. The structure itself was constructed in 1940, 900 feet from shore to house the massive water turbines of the hydropower system to supply water to a nearby lagoon.

Today, Pumphouse Point welcomes guests to enjoy the pristine natural environment from one of the 18 guestrooms. Accommodations are located in two separate buildings; the Pumphouse and the Shorehouse. All the rooms present a classic art-deco décor with stylish trimmings and luxurious amenities. There are a variety of rooms that offer astonishing views of the scenery, but those in the Pumphouse are completely surrounded by the magnificence of the lake’s natural beauty. For those seeking the ultimate relaxation experience, there are the Bathrooms that offer a decadent bath so you can soak as you enjoy the scenery.

Since the hotel does not allow children under the age of 16, guests are assured of a tranquil atmosphere. You can indulge in cocktails at the Pumphouse lounge before a flickering fire, or enjoy a complimentary breakfast and gourmet meals that showcase the local produce at the Shorehouse. If you choose to venture into the famous Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Claire National Park, there are numerous hiking trails, overland tracks, biking trails, and fishing spots for you to explore. You can even hire a floatplane to get a bird’s-eye view that will surely take your breath away. Pumphouse Point is the ultimate, adults-only wilderness retreat.
