Placed on Conde Nast Traveler’s hotel “Hot List 2017”, the Rajmahal Palace is truly a sight to be seen in Jaipur, India. Not just rich in beauty, this palace is rich in history as well. Once the official residence of the British Resident Political Officer of Rajputana, the palace has been home to many royals over the years. It’s not surprising – the palace is dripping with chandeliers, gold accents, and specially designed wallpapers and fabrics.

Guests can choose to stay in a palace room, palace suite, royal suite, or royal apartment – no two rooms and suites are the same at the Rajmahal Palace. If you’re a fan of Jackie O’s, stay in the Kennedy Suite, which includes a drawing room, bedroom, dressing room, dining room, and an en suite bathroom. The suite is named, of course, for its former guest, Jackie Kennedy, who stayed in this room for nearly three months in 1962. Want to go even bigger? Book the Maharani’s Apartment! With turquoise wallpaper, pink ceilings, and comfortable furniture throughout, this apartment is sure to please, not to mention the full kitchen enclosed private verandah and personal heated plunge pool that comes with your stay!

Dining options at the palace are just as rich as the rooms; named for the Pink City of India, 51 Shades of Pink is decked out with pink wallpaper and beautiful white tables and chairs throughout. It’s a great place for guests to grab breakfast. If pink isn't your color, head over to The Colonnade; turquoise accents pepper this 24-7 dining area where guests can enjoy India’s best comfort food cuisine.

No palace is complete without a top-of-the-line spa – relax at the SUJÁN Spa and get the royal treatment! Once relaxed, opt for a guided city tour, check out a polo match, or look into one of the other royal experiences offered by the Rajmahal Palace – you’re sure to have a great time!

Auberge Aux 4 Vents - The Swiss Hotel Where You Can Take a Bath Outdoors - From the Second Floor

Between Fribourg's medieval rooftops and a park full of century-old beeches, a renovated 17th-century manor is doing something quietly remarkable. Auberge aux 4 Vents is not a boutique hotel in the algorithmic sense - all reclaimed wood and oat milk. It is something older and stranger: a patrician country manor …

Domaine des Etangs, Auberge Collection - Deep in the Charente, a Medieval Castle Reinvents Itself

Somewhere in the Charente countryside of southwest France, on a 1,000-hectare (2,500-acre) estate of forests, lakes, and open pastureland, there is a tennis court floating on a pond. There is also a 13th-century castle tower where you can sleep beneath a glass ceiling and look up at the stone ribs …

Hana-Maui Resort, a Destination by Hyatt Residence - The Far Side of Maui

Most resorts want you to stay on property. Hana-Maui Resort wants you to stay in a different way entirely - unhurried, untethered, and largely offline. Rooms here have no televisions, no alarm clocks, and in some cases no radios. The spa uses heated lava rocks and Hawaiian healing traditions that …

Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve - Stars, and Shells at Saudi Arabia's Most Remote Resort

Before you even unpack, two things will stop you in your tracks: the color of the water - a cerulean so intense it looks digitally enhanced - and the absolute quiet. Just the warm Red Sea breeze and the low hum of a place that has been deliberately designed to …

Hotel Château Gütsch: A Fairytale Castle Above Lake Lucerne

Towering over Lucerne from its hilltop position like something plucked from a Bavarian fantasy, Hotel Château Gütsch is the sort of place that makes you stop and stare from street level. This 19th-century folly castle, modeled after Neuschwanstein, offers what every Swiss hotel promises but few truly deliver: genuinely spectacular …

The Landmark London - A Victorian Railway Hotel Finds Its Groove Again

The Landmark London defies every stereotype about stuffy London hotels. The Landmark London might sit on one of the capital's busiest roads, but step inside and you'll find yourself in something closer to a tropical conservatory than a traditional British establishment. With towering palm trees reaching toward an eight-story glass …

Parador de Lerma - Sleep Where Napoleon Once Rested: Spain's Most Majestic Palace Hotel

Rising from the highest point of Lerma, the Parador de Lerma commands attention from miles away. This isn't just another historic hotel - it's a 17th-century ducal palace where royalty once played, Napoleon Bonaparte laid his head, and Lope de Vega premiered his theatrical works. Today, you can experience this …

Grand Hotel - A Journey to America's Last Great Summer Palace

On a tiny island in Lake Huron, where the clip-clop of horse hooves replaces the rumble of engines and fudge shops line cobblestone streets like something from a Dickens novel, sits one of America's most gloriously anachronistic hotels. The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island isn't just a place to rest …
