The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest - Budapest’s Art Deco Hotel With A Stained Glass Dome

Location:

Budapest Hungary East Europe
Design

Although a part of an American hotel chain, The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest has its own distinct style. The hotel is housed in an early 20th-century building with a stained-glass dome, and the hotel feels just in place among other art deco architecture in the cityscape. Add perfect location to the mix, and you have a safe bet for your next visit to Budapest.

If you hate hotels that are over the top, you’ll appreciate the rooms and suites at The Ritz-Carlton. They’re spacious, bright, and chic without trying too hard. All rooms come with lovely city views, and it’s definitely worth the money to upgrade to a balcony room for a panorama of Budapest. With all the essentials taken care of, this is a home away home kind of hotel.

Among the in-house restaurants, the Kupola Lounge is certainly a show-stopper. Situated beneath the stained-glass dome and adorned with vintage posters, it looks like the part of a café from a bygone era. Come here for a sumptuous breakfast buffet or a classy afternoon tea, and you might even catch a live piano concert.

The location of this hotel is as central as it gets. St. Stephan’s Basilica can be seen right outside the windows, and the metro stop is just down the street. In addition, the Chain Bridge and Hungarian Parliament can be reached on foot and make for a lovely walk along the river.
