Located in Chile, Tierra Patagonia is a uniquely designed hotel found where the South American pampa meets Lake Sarmiento. Each of the 40 rooms has stunning views of the snowcapped mountains in Torres del Paine National Park, an extremely popular hiking destination. Rooms are decorated in natural tones with hand-crafted furniture and locally sourced textiles.

Tierra Patagonia offers guest excursions that vary in difficulty levels, each led by experienced and qualified guides. Excursions include many different activities, such as bike rides, horse rides, scenic visits, and hikes to discover the places of interest in the Torres del Paine National Park and less explored areas. There are also four glaciers within the park to discover: the Grey, Pingo, Frances, and Dickson glaciers. With 370,000 acres of land to explore, nature lovers will not want to leave this Patagonian paradise.

After a long day of exploration, guests can relax with a massage or take a soak in the heated pool. Savor the fresh and locally sourced cuisine and sample fine Chilean wines while enjoying an expansive view in the restaurant/bar.

Tierra Patagonia is also big on sustainable practices, primarily constructed of sustainably harvested local Lenga wood. The lodge is designed to minimize heat loss and reduce energy consumption. Native wildlife such as guanaco and nandu roam free alongside the ranch's horses and sheep. The lodge is also supporting a reforestation campaign that seeks to plant one million trees in Patagonia.

Widiane Resort & Spa - Where the Atlas Meets the Lake

There's a lake in Morocco that most travelers never find. Auberge Aux 4 Vents - The Swiss Hotel Where You Can Take a Bath Outdoors - From the Second Floor

Between Fribourg's medieval rooftops and a park full of century-old beeches, a renovated 17th-century manor is doing something quietly remarkable. Hotel Qvevrebi - Sleeping Inside A Wine Jug In Georgia's Ancient Vine Country

There are plenty of hotels that claim to put you in touch with a place's culture. Hotel Qvevrebi in eastern Georgia takes the idea more literally than most: it has built 20 cottages shaped like the qvevri, the ancient egg-shaped clay vessels that Georgians have used to ferment and store …

Wild Hill, Kenya - The Safari Lodge That Grew Out Of A Bean Farm

There's a secret door built into a hillside in Kenya. Step through it, walk a short tunnel, and you emerge to one of the most disorienting views in East Africa: a vast, golden sweep of Maasai Mara plains stretching 2,000 feet (610 meters) below you, lit by shafts of afternoon …

Feynan Ecolodge - Off the Grid and Off the Map

There are no light switches at Feynan Ecolodge. No minibar, no television, no electricity sockets in the rooms.
