Pulitzer Amsterdam - Heritage Canal Houses With Chic Interior Design

Location:

Amsterdam Netherlands West Europe
Design

If you’re a fan of heritage hotels, then you’re in for a treat. Pulitzer Amsterdam is a recently renovated hotel set in 25 interlinked canal houses dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. Combining the authentic architectural elements with contemporary chic design, this hotel is a true hidden gem of the Dutch capital.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that everyone will find a perfect room for their needs here. They have single rooms for solo travelers, two-level family suites, and everything in between. Every room is unique, but they all feature a work desk, bike repair set (don’t look surprised, it’s the Netherlands), and complimentary Dutch treats. Expect also a beautiful marble bathroom with Le Labo toiletries.

The hotel is located in Jordaan, a trendy neighborhood with designer boutiques and hip cafes on every corner. Most of the highlights are within walking distance, but Amsterdam is best explored by boat. Pulitzer Amsterdam offers private cruises onboard a 1909 salon boat or a classic open boat. You can enjoy a floating picnic while admiring the city from the canals and trying to sneak a peek into the houseboats.

Despite Amsterdam’s food scene being one of the best in Europe, the in-house restaurant Jansz still deserves a visit. They serve modern classics in beautiful interiors and with an even more beautiful view. During the day, make sure to reserve some time for a coffee at Pause – a cozy café in the hotel’s hidden garden oasis. And finally, the old-timey Pulitzer's Bar with heavy leather chairs and bartenders in bowties is a great place for a nightcap.
