The hotel consists of a total of 390 rooms spread over 269,098 sqft (25,000 sqm). The classic building was formerly Denmark's main post office and telegram center. It was built in 1912 and served as a communication base in Scandinavia when the mailing was via horses.
In recent times, the building has stood empty until the Varner brothers and Stordalen decided to buy the building in 2017 and turn it into a Norwegian-designed luxury hotel of the highest class.
After three years of renovating the iconic central post office in Copenhagen, Villa Copenhagen opened its doors on 1 July 2020. But unfortunately, it happened right before the pandemic hit Denmark.
The hotel has a heated outdoor pool on the terrace facing the streets of Copenhagen. Here you can relax in a pool, go for a swim or order a refreshment at the pool bar.

Villa Copenhagen is located next to Tivoli and the central train station. It's also a stone's throw away from Nyhavn's 17th-century waterfront, making the hotel an oasis in the middle of the city.

All original details were preserved and combined with contemporary design. As a result, the contrasts between hard steel, thick wood, oak floors, and plush furniture look fabulously luxurious.

The hotel has its own brasserie, a cocktail and wine bar, a bakery, and a design shop.

You could stay here for days without stepping outside the hotel. You can grab some food at the Kontrast restaurant, have drinks at cafe Rug and the T37 wine and cocktail bar, and jump to the swimming pool after a session in the Finnish sauna.
But, if you have an urge to explore, you can rent a bike and go for a cultural, architectural, and astronomical discovery ride through the city.

On the rooftop, you will find an 82 feet (25-meter) swimming pool and 12,917 sqft (1,200 sqm) of relaxing zone where you can enjoy dips and refreshments all year round.

The terrace is nicknamed "The Hidden Garden." It's pretty unusual to have a rooftop terrace with a pool in one of the colder cities in Europe.

In the past, it was a concept reserved for warmer cities in Europe, like Barcelona. However, it all seems to work.
The pool is heated, and - for now - mostly locals enjoy the unique opportunity to pretend Copenhagen is a Mediterranean city. Even the parasols remind you of the Italian Riviera rather than rainy Denmark.
