There are a lot of treehouse hotels in the world. Some of them are just little houses on stilts while others are a mere 2 meters from the ground. But not this one, oh boy, this is the treehouse five-year-old children dream of. And you get to stay in it. You lucky thing.

It is a cool 50 feet from the ground with two floors. The trunk of the 200-year-old cedar tree rises through the middle of the house to create a secure structure. The top floor has comfortable beds, seating areas, and large skylights where, at night, you can almost hear the stars breathing. During the day you have a balcony where you can enjoy the pine-scented air and miles and miles of mountain views. The house is powered by solar energy with a small gas cooker but you don’t have to worry about breakfast as that is delivered to your door.

Forest activities all round then? Go hiking, fishing, or pick wild mushrooms and berries, and don’t forget to visit Mount Rainier National Park which is nearby.

Camp Kangiusaq - Glamping Among the Icebergs of Nuuk Fjord

A couple of hours by boat from Greenland's capital, past waterfalls and drifting icebergs, sits a small cluster of heated tents where the only sounds at night are ice cracking in the water and wind against canvas. There's no phone signal, no wifi, and – depending on the season – …

Le Moulin d'Andé - A Working Mill Turned Artists' Refuge On The Seine

A wheat mill built to feed a medieval garrison, a wedding gift that became a haven for three generations of painters and filmmakers, and a manuscript with no letter E written entirely under its roof. Few properties on the Seine carry this much accumulated history, and fewer still are still …

Glacier Lagoon Hotel - Inside The Hotel Built On The Edge Of A Melting Glacier

Icebergs the size of buses break off an ice cap in southeast Iceland, drift across a lagoon, wash out to sea, and land back on a black sand beach as scattered blocks of ice. Hótel Jökulsárlón - Glacier Lagoon Hotel, which opened in 2024, sits a short drive from that …

Capitol Reef Resort - Wagons, Teepees, And A Park Utah Forgot To Brag About

A single photograph did it: covered wagons parked against blood-red cliffs, looking more like a Western film set than a working hotel. It turns out the wagons are real, they're bookable, and they sit a mile from the entrance to one of Utah's quietest national parks - one so overshadowed …

Ulaman Eco Luxury Resort - A Bamboo Sanctuary In The Tabanan Jungle

Ulaman Eco Luxury Resort - A Bamboo Sanctuary In The Tabanan Jungle

There's a version of "eco resort" that means a few solar panels and a sign about towel reuse. Ulaman is not that. This is a place where the walls are literally compressed earth, the staircases are woven bamboo, and there's a hand-carved wine cave hidden behind a stone wall that …

Conversas de Alpendre, Algarve - A Rural Hideaway With Soul

Someone actually did it. Quit the city, moved somewhere beautiful, and built something meaningful from scratch - and the result is one of those rare places that feels genuinely lived-in and loved rather than assembled by a hospitality consultant. Built into the rural eastern Algarve near the village of Cacela …

Sanctuary Treehouse Resort - Tennessee's Most Playful Luxury Resort

Sanctuary Treehouse Resort in Sevierville, Tennessee, is the world's first and largest interactive treehouse resort, which is one way to put it. Another is that someone built a 6-meter (20-foot) slide off the bedroom, installed a drink chute between floors so you never have to carry your own beverage up …
