Longitude 131 - Unique Campsite In The Australian Desert

Location:

Yulara Australia Oceania
DesertNatureTent

This unique luxury campsite is set in the Australian desert amidst red sand dunes and stunning views. Located right by the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Longitude offers fifteen luxury tents (each elevated on stilts) where the flick of a bedside switch to raise the blinds is all that stands beside you and the spectacular views of the Uluru sandstone formation at sunrise and sunset. Each tent features an all-glass wall and is named after a celebrated Australian explorer or hero of the outback.

Offering an all-inclusive rate including all meals and beverages, Longitude 131° also boasts many complimentary activities with walks around the thousand-foot-high Uluru to explore cave paintings and sunset drinks in a secluded gorge.

Aside from the fifteen tents, guests can relax at The Dune House, situated in the middle of the campsite, which offers a spectacular panorama of the gorgeous landscape. You won’t have to worry about creating a campfire at this site as you can dine in luxury at the Dune House Restaurant. There’s also an outdoor swimming pool in the middle of this desert, offering a cool oasis against the desert sand.

Sacred Sands - Straw Walls, Cast-Iron Tubs, and the Darkest Sky in California

The walls at Sacred Sands are packed with straw. Not metaphorically - straw bale construction means compacted bales stacked, framed, and finished in terracotta clay, resulting in walls so thick they function as their own acoustic system, insulation layer, and fire barrier all at once. It is an uncommon way …

Feynan Ecolodge - Off the Grid and Off the Map

There are no light switches at Feynan Ecolodge. No minibar, no television, no electricity sockets in the rooms. What you get instead is candlelight flickering off stone walls, a sky so dense with stars it feels structural, and the sound of nothing in particular. Located deep inside Jordan's Dana Biosphere …

The Mohicans Tree House Resort - Ohio's Most Extraordinary Treehouse Resort

At The Mohicans Treehouse Resort in rural Ohio, a vintage Airstream hangs 7.5 meters (25 feet) in the air, Pete Nelson-designed cabins perch among century-old pines, and the entire place was built largely by Amish craftsmen using reclaimed barn wood. Deep in the forested hills of Holmes County, an hour …

Treebones Resort - How a Family Built Big Sur's Most Unusual Hotel

Sleep in a human-sized nest perched in the trees. Wake to whales breaching offshore from your solar-powered tent. Dine on sushi made with herbs picked minutes earlier from the garden. Open Sky Zion - Where Luxury Meets the Wild

When was the last time you soaked in a copper clawfoot tub while staring at red rock cliffs through floor-to-ceiling windows? Open Sky Zion takes the concept of outdoor hospitality and elevates it to something entirely unexpected - a complete reimagining of what it means to sleep under the stars. …

Few & Far Luvhondo - The Six-Suite Lodge That's Off Every Map

Deep in Limpopo's Soutpansberg Mountains, where ancient baobabs tower over valleys and the nearest paved road feels like a distant memory, an unlikely safari story is unfolding. Few & Far Luvhondo isn't your typical Big Five experience - there are no lions prowling the savanna or elephants trumpeting at dawn. …

Valley Views Glamping - Sleeping Under Stars in New Zealand's Hidden Wilderness

The first thing you notice isn't the geodesic domes dotting the hillside like something from a sci-fi film, or even the sweeping views across the Waitaki Valley that stretch endlessly toward jagged mountain peaks. It's the silence. The kind of profound quiet that makes city dwellers suddenly aware of their …
