Woodnest - Magical Forest Nests In Norway

Location:

Odda Norway West Europe
NatureTreehouse

The cabins overlooking the spectacular Sørfjord are hidden in an intimate environment of a deep green forest on the hillside of Odda. It takes about 30 minutes to walk up to this magical place. The cabins are the brainchild of Kjartan and his wife, Sal. When they started their journey of realizing their dream, they hired the architects at Helen & Hard. It was a challenging project to execute that involved transporting the large construction elements by a helicopter and smaller tools in backpacks by fit hikers.

Originally the designers planned to have a large glass face overlooking the fjord, but then they realized the potential of having a view of all surroundings. So on one side of the sleeping corner, your view is on evergreen pine trees, and on the other is the scenic Sørfjord.

In close vicinity, you can visit local attractions of the Hardanger region such as the Trolltunga, Dronningstien, Låtefoss, Buerbreen, Folgefonna and Bondhusvatnet.

Woodnest Forest Cabin

The cozy wooden cabins are 15 m² in size and contain a toilet and four beds. They are hooked to trees about 6 meters above ground with windows in all directions offering views of the dense forest, the fjord, and the city of Odda. Allowing the glass to follow the construction around the entire cabin created a unique experience of living high in a tree crown.
