See, they have made a mistake here. We were fooled into believing 5-star meant a plush bed, a list of in-room amenities, and a basic spa.
Alpin Panorama Hotel Hubertus received a 4-star rating, and that keeps us hanging in disbelief more than their suspended pool.
The alpine building is an architectural feat with giant wooden beams decorating the facade and making their way inside to complement the gorgeous natural parquettes. But it's not what you will first notice.
Your yearning eyes will have gazed upon the unreal suspended pool reaching out towards the mountains.
It's so epic that a picture of it on Instagram causes a bigger avalanche than any in the history of the Dolomites.
The spa is as extensive as you would imagine. Six heated indoor and outdoor pools, seven saunas, and various relaxation oases.
Stepping outside this spectacular building, the best slopes of South Tyrol are waiting for you for some joyful skiing with a panorama of the imposing Dolomite peaks.
In addition, the Fanes Sennes Prags Nature Park is in close vicinity for lovers of azure lakes, pine trees, and pristine wild surroundings.

The hotel sits high in the world-famous mountains of the Dolomites. It may not look like one, but the Alpin Panorama Hotel Hubertus in Allgäu is a family-run boutique hotel.

Debarked larch trunks support the curved facade of Alpin Panorama Hotel Hubertus' Building.

The Alpine hotel's most remarkable feature is its cantilevering infinity pool pushing contemporary architecture's boundaries.

The Alpine-style rooms feature wooden beams - just like the exterior - and beautiful parquets.

The bathrooms are equipped with vintage-style freestanding bathtubs with views over the mountains.

The hotel has two saunas (one with panoramic views), an ice room, and a nude whirlpool where guests are required to take off their bathing suits.
Also, in European sauna culture, you can only have a towel on you when you step inside a sauna.

The spa's relaxing zone is creatively calming. The cocoon chairs hanging from the beautifully choreographed wooden design ceiling surround a central fireplace.
The beds around have privacy walls and their own reading lights.

Even the gym has majestic Alpine views, so you can enjoy the panorama while working to get in shape.

The plush whitewashed beds are on the terrace of the gym.

After a session in the sauna, you can jump into the snow and sit outside a cozy log-walled place with a fireplace.

The Infinity Pool
The 82 feet (25 meters) long pool heated swimming pool is a bridge between the old and new.
It stretches out of Alpin Panorama Hotel Hubertus' building, held by long tree trunks.

When you swim toward the edge of the pool, it seems like you have become one with nature.
The remarkable design enables a floating-like experience where all you see is the surface of the water and the surrounding mountains.

And if you thought that's amazing, wait until you see the end part of the infinity pool.
They created a window where you can see the snow 66 feet (20 meters) below you.

You can dive to touch the glass bottom of the pool.

And if you stand below the pool's structure, you can watch people float in the sky. Or at least that's your impression when they swim over the glass bottom part. Because of this, some call it the Skypool.

The hotel rents mountain bikes for an offroad adventure through the Alpine environment.

In winter, you can hit the slopes in Kronplatz, considered the number one winter sports resort in South Tyrol, with its 32 state-of-the-art lifts serving 75 miles (120 km) of pistes.
